Tank

Lyrics by Mr. S C "Sammy" Cowell, Headmaster
written for the Muddlers Concert of October 1947 and sung to the tune of a popular rhumba of the time.

"You know that we have a swimming pool
And it's filled with water blue and cool
All the boys just love to go in "tank"
But the girls stand on the bank.

 Chorus
So their bathing suits never get wet
They pose on the sides looking pretty
And say it would be a great pity
If our bathing suits ever got wet!"

When the time for swimming heats comes round
For each race some entries must be found
But the question is can this be done?
If the colours are going to run

 Chorus
For their bathing suits mustn't get wet....etc.

There are three more verses all in a similar 'ragging' vein, but I have forgotten them.
